Briana and Ian's Skaneateles Wedding

Overlooking beautiful Skaneateles Lake, in the Fingerlakes Region of Central New York, Briana and Ian became one. 

​

Their preparations began at the beautiful Sherwood Inn (whom we're thankful to have been referred by), in the Main Inn, and the Adjacent Hannum House. both are beautiful and historic, appointed in elegant touches, which provided the ideal backdrop for their preparations. Their plans didn't initially allow for prep-coverage, but I'm so glad I was able to arrive early. The building of anticipation when a couple so very in love gets ready for their nuptials, translates beautifully in film. Briana and Ian were no exception.

Side-note: One of the time-consuming aspects of editing wedding films involves finding the right music. We typically only use music available for royalty free license, and licensing music from major record labels is cost prohibitive (costing much more than my fee). After copious time searching and trying different tunes, the answer was right in front of me. As luck would have it, the song they chose for their First Dance is by Ben Rector, who's music is available for license! It's a beautiful love song that provided the perfect backdrop.

They tied the knot at the First Presbyterian Church of Skaneateles, just up the road from the Sherwood Inn. Their moving, personalized ceremony, included all the sacred meaning you'd expect, with the addition of personal vows, which gave everyone in attendance a glance into their relationship... All the way back to their meeting and courtship.

​After a beautiful ceremony, guests made their way to the Sherwood Inn for cocktails, dinner and dancing. 

​

It was also great to work with Taylor Carr, a wedding planner out of Ohio, and a close personal friend of Briana's. It was our first time working with photographer Jennifer Vrooman, but I hope it won't be our last. The entire day went seamlessly, thanks in large part to close coordination with Melissa form the Sherwood Inn.
