Sarah & Willie's Epic Day

 

In Syracuse, New York, Sarah and Willie's day started with preparations in their respective suites in the Hotel Syracuse / Syracuse Marriott Downtown. After a bit of getting ready surrounded by some of their favorite people, they read cards they'd written to each other. 

 

Within these cards, was a peek into their entire history and how their love story unfolded. ​It was instantly a classic. From their highschool courtship to Sarah moving to Tallahassee to be with her love, to their commitment to raise a family. The story was something you'd hear in a Sam Cooke love song, so that's the vibe of music, and film-style I went with for that section of their film.  Classic. It complimented such a beautiful bride, reading the words of her love, and leading up to the doors swinging open and Willie seeing her for the first time, looking stunning in her gown, ready to be his wife. I'm not embarrased to say, I cried while editing it. I was given a glimpse into their past, and a glimpse into their future, and was blessed to capture this important day that would turn the page.

They exchanged vows in a stunning ceremony at Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University, followed by one of the most elegant receptions Syracuse has ever seen. ​The Grand Ballroom of the Marriott set the scene. With sweeping views of Syracuse the party that followed was one of the books.

It was an honor to capture Sarah and Willie's big day.
